On Thursday night (12 November) GWSE held a virtual showcase of young women STEM researchers. Dr Sowmya Ajay Castro (University of Dundee, Division of Molecular Microbiology) spoke on the development of a vaccine for Streptococcus Group A, and Amel Attatfa (PhD student, University of Abertay) gave a talk on cyber diplomacy and diplomatic action in international relations. The group also welcomed Amy McConnachie, a first year Medical Student at the University of Dundee. Amy is the recipient GWSE’s annual Access Summer School Millennial Book Prize. This Award is in its 20th year.
