On 21 November, GWSEast joined GWS members from across Scotland at the Scottish Parliament at the GWS seminar, “The Impact of Conflict on Women and Girls”. The event explored how living in and fleeing from conflict has a specific impact on women and girls, and the effect of grief on children in conflict zones. The seminar began by considering the impact of official policies and procedures on women seeking sanctuary in Scotland and the UK and ended with a presentation by a Ph.D student from Afghanistan who explained how successive changes in regimes there had affected the education of girls.
